The Faron Temple Walkthrough is a full guide for the Faron Temple, the dungeon featured in Echoes of Wisdom. This includes navigating the dungeon, opening all chests, and taking on the dungeon boss, Gohma.
Unlike most dungeons within Echoes of Wisdom, the Faron Temple is a more open dungeon where the player can create their own path, doing different objectives out of order. The below guide is a suggested path, but certainly not the only one.
First Small Key
- Just before entering the Faron Temple, Zelda will see a mysterious plant gobble up the Big Key chest and head inside the dungeon. Zelda can follow suit and can activate the Waypoint. However, there is a barrier here, preventing Zelda from progressing deeper into the dungeon. Go ahead and exit to get back out to the Stilled Faron Wetlands.
- Outside, Zelda will encounter a variety of enemies. Progress to the northeast part of the Stilled Faron Wetlands and climb the webs. There are several Armos here, one of which will activate when Zelda draws near. Attack the Armos with an echo and learn the Armos Echo.
- Use Bind to move the Armos that is second from the left and head inside the Faron Temple from a different entrance.
- Inside there are three green target that needs to be electrified. Zelda can charge up a Buzz Blob Echo and launch it at the green targets. With all three targets electrified, open the chest to get a Small Key.
At the northwest part of the Stilled Faron Wetlands defeat the Armos and learn the Armos Echo Pull the second Armos from the left and enter the Faron Temple Launch a Buzz Blob Echo to the green target on the right Hit both of the other green targets as well to get a chest with a Small Key to appear
Dungeon Map
- After getting the first small key, exit to get back outside into the Stilled Faron Wetlands. Staying on the higher ledge, walk to the left and enter the Faron Temple from this second higher entrance. Zelda can clear the enemies here and then head right a screen to get to the large entrance room of the dungeon. This is the same first room of the dungeon we entered earlier, but now we are on the north side. Step on the floor switch to cause the large gate to lower, allowing for quick access.
- NOTE: As mentioned earlier, at this point there a handful of different paths for Zelda to take. This particular guide will lead to Zelda acquiring the Dungeon Map next.
- From the large entrance room, take the open door on the right side. Here there are four Beamos in the corners of the room and a pair of Armos. Zelda can move the first Armos with Bind if she likes, but more easily, she can just use echoes, or just jump over the walls on the left and right. When she is higher up though, the Beamos will attack, so be careful.
- Ride the moving platforms to the bottom right, where there is a ladder. Head down and in the water down below there is an Armos statue. Activate the statue so it runs to the left. Once Zelda can get behind it, open the chest to get 50 rupees. Zelda is not able to head right along the northern path, but there is no need to. That is simply another entrance point to getting into the Faron Temple.
- Head back up the ladder on the left. In the center of the room, there are three switches that can be electrified. Use a Buzz Blob Echo to do so, causing the door at the top to open up. Ride the platforms and head left a screen.
- Open the chest here to get the Dungeon Map. Step on the switch and head back left to get back to the large entrance room.

Manhandla First Battle
- From the large entrance room, head up through the locked door to take on the dungeon mini-boss, Manhandla.
- The boss has two heads and will lunge itself towards Zelda. Additionally, the boss will occasionally shoot projectiles at her and the body will unleash a poisonous gas.
- The two heads are vulnerable to most attacks. Zelda can use her Swordfighter Form or use an Echo to deal damage. After enough hits have been made on the head, it will be stunned. At this point, Zelda can attack the small red circle on its stem.
- After enough hits the head will be defeated. Destroy both heads and Manhandla will retreat. While there is no reward at the moment, we'll be back to fight Manhandla again later in the dungeon. Exit and head back to the previous room.
Use Swordfighter Form or an Echo to attack
Treasure Chest (Optional)
- OPTIONAL: In the main entrance room, there is a ladder leading down to an underground area. Here, Zelda can place large statues, such as the Snake Statue Echo, weighing down the scale on the right side. This will lower the platform and allowing Zelda to travel to the left.
- In the next area, Zelda should first use some echoes to clear out the enemies, making it easier to navigate. There is a treasure chest at the north-central part of the room, protected by a Deku Baba Lv. 2. Use a Strandtula Echo to climb up to the north end. After clear the Deku Baba, open the chest to get 10 Warm Peppers.
- The exit to the left ends up back outside to another entrance to the Faron Temple, so return back to the main room.
Weigh down the scale with a Hawk Statue Echo or another statue Use the Strandtula Echo to climb up a web and reach the chest
Golden Egg (Optional)
- OPTIONAL: While there are 3 Small Keys in the dungeon, there are only 2 required locked doors that need to be opened. The 3rd locked door leads to a Golden Egg.
- From the main entrance room, take the door on the left that is on the lower level and head down the stairs on the left side. This will bring Zelda to a very large, dark room. There are eight Braziers throughout the room. Zelda can walk around and light them all up, which will permanently light up the room. There is plenty to do in this room, so it might be worth your while.
- Make your way to the northwest corner of the room and head up the ladder. In the side scrolling area, there is a switch on the left side. Charge up a heavy echo, such as a Boulder Echo or Cat Statue Echo, and shoot it to the right, beyond the bars, so that it lands on the scale. Send a second as well and the scales will tip.
- Hit the switch on the left side of the room and it will open up the barriers. Open the chest in the room to get the Small Key.
- Climb back down the ladder to get back to the dark room. Make your way to the far east end of the room, where there is a locked door. Open it and head down the steps. Open the chest to get a Golden Egg.
Hit the switch on the left side and open the chest for the Small Key Back in the dark room, open the door to the east and head down to get the Golden Egg
Small Key #3
- From the main entrance room, head through the door on the left to get to the large dark room. If you light all eight Braziers in this room, the room will fully light up. Carefully navigate to the south end of the room and head down through the door.
- The door will close behind you and once Zelda walks by, the first of the Armos will activate. There are two switches on the ground here and in order to solve this puzzle, two activated Armos must step on the switches at almost the same time. Use an Armos Echo on the left side so that it is traveling up and down. Don't worry if the timing is not perfect, as because the left side only has five tiles going up and town, and the Armos on the right has seven tiles, they will eventually sync up.
- Head through the door that opens up on the right, activate the Waypoint, and then head back outside through the water.
- On the right side of the area here there are some small webs. Use an Ignizol to burn them, finding another entrance back into the Faron Temple.
- Inside there are two more switches. Don't move any of the armos or pots. Just place two Armos Echoes, going up and down, near each of the two switches. They will line up, allowing Zelda to head up a screen.
- Here Zelda will confront an Electric Wizzrobe, as well as a Baby Gohma. Use echoes to defeat the two enemies and head up a screen.
- In this dark room there are multiple Braziers and a number of enemies. Light all the Braziers to permanently light up the room, allowing for easier navigation. Burn the web at the southwest part of the room and climb down the ladder.
Use an Armos Echo so the Armos step on the switches at the same time Use an echo such as a Mothula Echo to attack the Electric Wizzrobe
- In the underwater area, swim to the bottom and then use Bind to move the Boulders. Use some underwater echoes to clear the Tangler Lv. 2s that are in the way. Swim to the far northwest part of the room and use Water Block Echoes to reach the chest that holds a purple rupee.
- Swim back in the water and use bind to grab the Armos. Pull it to the left and then up, to clear a path. Then swim back around to the right and with the Armos out of the way, you can make your way to the north end of the room. Climb the ladder to resurface.
- You'll find yourself in yet another dark room with a number of Braziers. Navigate the room and light them, making it easy to see. There are also three green crystals in the room. Use a Buzz Blob Echo to activate all three, causing both doors in the room to open. Make your way through the door to the left.
- Clear the enemies in this room and then remove the Rocks that are on the two scales. Place an Armos on each scale so they are moving up and down. Jump off the scale when they are lined up so that they are in sync. When they step on the switches in unison, it will cause both the doors in the room to unlock.
- Head through the door on the left and open the chest to get a Small Key. The wall on the bottom can be grabbed with Bind and pulling, creating a shortcut to the large dark room that we were in earlier.
Create Water Block Echoes to reach the chest that contains 50 rupees Use a Buzz Blob Echo to light the three green crystals and head left
Big Key
- After getting the small key, either backtrack to the right three screens or simply warp to the waypoint.
- This time climb up and use the ladder to head up to a side-scrolling area. Place some heavy weights on the scale on the left side, causing the scale on the right to rise.
- Use Water Block Echoes or a Strandtula Echo to climb up on the right and use a small key. In the next room, activate the Waypoint and then head up to take on Manhandla.
- The second battle with Manhandla is similar, but a bit more difficult. This time the boss has four heads. Two of the heads are green and act just as they did before. Attack them with echoes to stun them and then attack the red weak point to cut off the heads.
- The two heads that are purple are a bit more resilient. The best form of attack is to drop a Bomb or use a Bombfish Echo. The head will gobble up the head and it will stun the head. When stunned hit the weak spot. During the battle, the enemies summon a Drippitune, which can easily be defeated.
- Repeat this process until all four heads have been defeated. Open the chest that is left behind to get the Big Key.
Weigh down the left scale and then use Water Block Echoes or a Strandtula Echo to climb up Drop a Bombfish Echo in front of the purple head
Gohma
- After acquiring the Big Key, it's time to take on the dungeon boss. You can warp to a closer Waypoint, or backtrack down a screen and through the underground area. After resurfacing, head left two screens and then up the stairs. Unlock the door and head through to take on the dungeon boss.
- Gohma will appear on the wall and has three green crystals attached. Zelda will need to electrify these crystals by attacking them with an electric echo, such as a Electric Wizzrobe Echo, Electric Keese Echo, or a Buzz Blob Echo. Alternatively, when Gohma's eye is open, Zelda can attack it directly by using Swordfighter Form and shooting an arrow.
- Once all the crystals are hit, or the eye is hit, Gohma will fall to the floor, stunned. Use echoes or Swordfighter Form to deal direct damage to the eye of Gohma.
- Throughout the battle, Gohma will spawn some Gohma Eggs and as the battles progresses, she'll release even more enemies. Gohma will also launch a laser attack while on the wall, but can be avoided by moving around the room rapidly.
- Keep hitting Gohma's eye until the boss has been defeated.
Gohma will appear as the dungeon boss Attack the green crystals with a Buzz Blob Echo Or use an Electric Wizzrobe Echo or Electric Keese Echo Or change into Swordfighter Form and shoot an arrow when its eye is open
Post-Faron Temple
- After Gohma is defeated, Zelda will be contacted by Farore, one of the three goddesses who created the world. The goddess will give Zelda Farore's Sanction. Zelda will see some more backstory about the history of Null (exactly what is said will vary depending on the order of temple completion).
- Grab the Heart Container and warp back out to The Sweet Spot.
- The Deku Scrubs are happy the Rift has been mended and now appear to be over the Cotton Candy craze. Instead, they seem more interested in Smoothies now. The Deku Scrubs will appear outside the Smoothie Shop at Scrubton. This will complete the A Rift in the Faron Wetlands quest.
